Terms of use
1. Service and operator
Investment Ledger is a personal investment-record service operated by SHEN PENG (シン ホウ). Operator address, telephone and other details are available without delay upon request at support@meritledger.org.
These terms apply from 29 October 2026. Review them before starting use. Existing users will be informed of material changes and when they apply.
2. Eligibility and accounts
The service is for individuals aged 18 or older who can enter a valid contract. Register accurate information and safeguard your sign-in methods and devices. Do not use another person’s account or upload information obtained unlawfully.
Official clients using the same account share the same ledger and settings. Display language, edition, ledger base currency, ledger time zone and billing country are independent. Changing language alone does not change an existing ledger or purchase region.
3. Records and calculations
You are responsible for checking entries, prices, exchange rates, classifications, dates and reconciliation with financial-institution records. Missing or incorrect inputs and unconfirmed valuations can change results. Rounded displays may differ from stored values and calculations.
The service does not provide automatic broker synchronization, live quotes, trade execution, tax filing or personalized investment advice. NISA and retirement-account fields do not guarantee legal eligibility, contribution limits, tax results or a financial institution’s calculations.
4. Your content and community use
You retain the rights you hold in your records and images. You allow the operator to handle them as needed for storage, display, backup, export, support and community visibility you choose. This does not grant a blanket right to use your content for unrelated advertising.
Do not post unlawful or infringing material, impersonate others, harass people, expose authentication secrets or unauthorized personal information, access systems without permission, overload the service or evade purchase and access controls. We may restrict problematic content as needed and explain the reason and contact route when reasonably possible.
5. Free and paid features
The service offers free features and paid Premium. Membership settings and the final confirmation show Premium prices, currency, duration and renewal terms. Displayed prices are the total payable; no additional tax is added at Checkout. You are charged only after you complete an order. Review free and paid features in membership settings before purchasing.
Weekly, monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically at the period and price shown at purchase. Cancel through the purchase provider before renewal to retain access ordinarily until the paid period ends. Removing an app, signing out, voiding ledger records or requesting deletion does not by itself cancel a subscription.
A one-time purchase does not auto-renew. It covers the basic premium features described at purchase, not a guarantee that the service will exist forever or include future broker synchronization, paid market data or other additional services. Any service closure will be handled under applicable law and the notice provided.
For a weekly-to-monthly change, review the effective date, next billing date, unused-period adjustment and amount payable on Stripe’s confirmation page before confirming. Changing display language or ledger currency does not change your subscription currency.
6. Refund policy
For a first paid Web purchase, we will fully refund the initial charge if you request it at support@meritledger.org within seven calendar days of the first payment. This includes the first weekly, monthly, annual or one-time purchase. Renewals and repeat purchases are outside this voluntary policy. Refunds normally go to the original payment method, and the refunded paid entitlement ends.
The policy does not provide discretionary prorated refunds for cancellation during a paid period. Duplicate or incorrect charges, legally required refunds and material failures to provide what was purchased are handled under applicable law. Your mandatory legal rights are not limited.
7. Export and ending use
Use available exports to keep copies of saved records when needed. Export does not include restoration or re-import into the service unless we expressly offer that feature.
Downgrading or cancelling a subscription does not itself delete ledger records or revision history. Request account deletion at support@meritledger.org. Deleting a shared account affects other official clients using it. The privacy policy explains deletion scope and retention exceptions.
8. Changes, interruptions and restrictions
We may change, interrupt or restrict the service as needed for maintenance, incidents, abuse prevention or law. For planned material changes or closure, we aim to give advance notice and explain effects on paid access. Emergencies may require notice afterward.
Price or renewal changes will be communicated before taking effect, with consent or a cancellation opportunity where required. We will not unilaterally apply revised terms to previous purchases in a way that defeats applicable consumer protections.
9. Responsibility and disputes
You make investment decisions, execute transactions and handle filings. We do not guarantee profits or market outcomes. The operator’s liability is governed by applicable law; these terms do not exclude fraud, gross negligence or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Japanese law governs, without excluding mandatory consumer protections applicable where you live. First contact support@meritledger.org about a dispute. Any unresolved dispute is subject to the jurisdiction provided by applicable law.
10. Contact and changes to terms
Support, purchases and refunds: support@meritledger.org. General contact: contact@meritledger.org. Do not send passwords or verification codes.
We will communicate material changes, their timing and any required action. Effective date: 29 October 2026. Japanese and English versions will be maintained to express the same meaning; translation discrepancies will not be used to disadvantage users.
